I was never hit on the side just in the front and i was always wearing my seatbelt. all times i had corneal abrasions which felt like sand paper scrubbing my eyes every time i blinked (for about a week) ohh gosh i hate that smell and all that smokey stuff. sorry to hear that happen to you. I hope you feel better. they do save lives though.

Not me but I saw someone that had a bad bruise in their breastbone for 3 weeks. I saw the damage. It looked like they got hit in the chest by a bat. Today most airbags are deployed using a velocity sensing mechanism. Depending on how hard you hit determines the force of the airbag. I have heard that once the airbag is deployed your insurance will consider the car totaled. It costs $9000 to reequip a car plus the collision damage.

the colours are from the explosion in the airbag, did you notice the smell ? i don't remember much about the few minutes after it deployed, but when i came to my senses i do remember the smell of the powder from the charge. Airbags are extremely dangerous, and children should never ride up front, but they do serve a purpose, i was slammed into a loaded logging truck at 100 km hr. I had to be cut out of my pickup but I'm here because the airbag worked the way it was supposed to.

You had enough of a frontal force to deploy them. And getting popped in the face by a big balloon can caise what you discribe. You got hit in the face by a so called soft force that was expanding in like miliseconds..IE a huge slap in the face. and yes it will kill a baby, there bones sre still very soft. These things are powered but a small rocket engine ( Solid fuel) like and estees hobby rocket...look it up...but the important thing is...YOUR ALIVE AND HERE ASKING THIS QUESTION!!...i am not yelling...just stongly pointing that out.searsh "airbags" for more info

Yes I did, and I don't know if it was smart or not to do this, but I put my hands up to cover my face and ended up fracturing my left hand. I read that it's cheaper to just buy a new car with insurance money because the cost to replace the airbag isn't worth it.

even if the airbags ought to bypass off isn't determined by making use of the speed of the vehicle. promoting a vehicle the position the airbags continually bypass off in each twist of destiny at any particular % ought to really be risky and likely be unlawful. The airbags ought to bypass off in reality especially injuries and in no way all injuries at any particular %.
