If her bloodlines and confirmation are that good and you want to show to either to increase her value or that of her foals then yes I would spend the money and train her. She would have more value trained to ride than just as a broodmare.

if shes 11 i wouldnt simply because of this. Older horses can be easier to break if theyve been around people all their life but they can also be harder because they are more mature and can buck a lot harder than a little 2 or 3 year old. Your putting the trainer through a lot when you ask them to train her and it would probably cost you a lot of money to do it. Also if your just training her for showing you can do halter shows and could train the horse yourself.

Eleven is still young.. I would invest in her, to get the most pleasure for you AND her..Horses do well when trained as adult..I think that even if you decide to not show, you will have many hours of pleasure riding with her,,If her breeding is that good, then her intelligence and train-ability is too.

IF YOUR HORSE IS VERY QUIET AND EXCEPTING OF YOU THEN I WOULD BREAK HER IN YOURSELF. IF YOU DONT HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE TO I WOULD ASK THE PERSON THAT IS GOING TO BREAK HER IN IF YOU CAN PARTICIPATE AND THAT WAY NOT ONLY WILL SHE HAVE THE EXTRA COMFORT AND SUPPORT FROM YOU BE IT WILL GIVE YOU A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE BREAKING PROCESS. YOU WILL THE BE ABLE TO SEE WHAT THE PERSON IS LIKE WITH YOUR HORSE AS SOME BREAKERS ARE TO BE DESIRED.
IF YOUR MAIN INTEREST IS TO SHOW HER THEN BY ALL MEANS EVEN IF YOU ONLY ATTEND HALTER CLASSES TO START OFF WITH THIS WILL GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THE LEVEL OF QUALITY SHE IS AND HER SUCCESS RATE IN THE SHOWING WORLD.

Well that kind of depends on whether you WANT to go showing! It seems a shame to spend money on doing something you could do yourself, even if you need help from a professional from time to time. You'd gain so much from working together with your new horse and if she's as quiet and accepting as you say, then it will only serve to strengthen your bond. Take things quietly and start off with in-hand classes. This will give you a good idea as to whether she's as quality as you think she is.

You might as well because if nothing else it will increase her re-sell value that she is broke to ride if you decide to sell her.

IF YOU THINK THAT SHE HAS POTENTIAL THAN GO FOR IT . I HAVE BROKEN MATURE AGED HORSES BEFOR AND THEY TURN OUT JUST AS WELL AS YOUNGER HORSES. THEY ARE WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT. SADDLE HER UP AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS WITHH EXCEPTING THE SADDLE.
I DEFINATELY WOULD..................
