well, it doesn't mention the 1.2 million deaths in the Middle East, but it's still a travesty, especially since Bush is ruining the war on terror at every turn...creating them, pissing more and more people off, ignoring their leaders (Osama...Bush said that he didn't really think about him much), and taking our eye off the terrorists so we could invade a country that Cheney and Rummy said back in 2000 that they wanted to take over Iraq to control their oil and build permanent military bases there...which we did!

that may be true, but had we not done anything at all, what might have come in the future? If Sadaam really was doing something nuclear and launched an attack on the US the death toll would be horrible. Think of the lives lost in Vietnam and Korea when we were there not even fighting for our country or anything that was a threat to our country. We were helping alies.

Pearl Harbor was an act of war. This was a cowardly act of terrorism. You don't see these guys standing up and fighting. They committed the act and ran like the pieces of poo that they are.

Thoughts? We're allowed to have thoughts again? And express them, too? When did this change take place?

My thoughts are that it might not feel quite so painful to think about it if those lives had been lost in pursuit of the actual people who were involved with the hideous atrocities of 9-11-01

It's always blame ourselves first. It's not that the terrorists are killing us, it's that we are in the wrong war at the wrong place at the wrong time. When are people going to wake up and realize that there are people who want us dead? We have to fight them to keep our country safer. They started this, not us. By the way, how many people die in Washington D.C every week from non-war related incidents?

The loss of life after Pearl Harbor far exceeded the number of people that perished during the Pearl Harbor attack.

It was a no-win situation either way. Think if Bush wouldn't have done anything in response to being terrorized... what would you have thought about him then?
He did what he felt had to be done.
