It is a sad event however that was not a good move on his part and thats the truth. I work at a salt water fish store and we all know the dangers involved working with animals from the ocean. He knew better and it was a real silly error and it ended up in tradegy period..... There is a interivew with his wife next week on Wednesday on Barbar Walters, I will be watching this. We brought in two stingray in honor of Steve, and they were named Steve and Crikey. They are very gentle animals, it was out of complete character for the ray to do that, it must have felt threathen....RIP Steve as well.....

Crikey! Of course he'll be missed. He's irreplacable. Paul Hogan is the next person on deck. And to be honest he's kinda boring

I think it's sad, but I think that's how he would have wanted to go (ok, maybe he would have wanted a croc to eat him, but he was still doing what he loved- working with animals). I know I would rather die doing something I enjoy than laying around for months or years while my body deteriorated. I bet he's up in animal lover's heaven right now looking down and watching over his wife and daughter.

i feel bad for him and his family.. but I don't see the need to dwell on this.. he passed away, and thats horrible.. but people are still talking about it, now, after the fact.. people die everyday.. good people, that helped others.. who did something besides entertain us.
while i find his death tragic.. i also find it unnerving that everyone is obsessing over it.. while i haven't seen more than a handlful of posts for other people who also passed away.

I think it was sad and such a senseless death. He had so much respect for animals, he definitely died doing what he loved the most.

Deaths are always sad, and although he died rather young... at least he was having fun doing what he loved!
