No doubt Ganguly was a great player. Every player has to call it a day one day or the other. Under Ganguly's captaincy India hve won more matches as compared to other Captains. He has also played some brilliant Innings and have contributed enough to Indian Cricket. However, his success has gone into his head and some sort of ego has creeped into him. This has resulted in the change in his behaviour and attitude. This coupled with his poor form have been the main factors which resulted in loss of captaincy and place in the team.
Considering the present trend, I find chances of his calling back into the team are very bleak and even if he comes back we cannot expect miracles from his and there will not be much improvement in the fortune of the team.
In order to build up a strong and dedicated team, I feel that a stage should come where players should not take their place in the team as granted and every body has to fight for a place in the team by consistent performance. This is the only way to build up a team for the world cup.

well ganguly has been a good player for india, has scored more than 10000 runs and 22 odi centuries. i dont really mind if he comes back into the team but he has not really preformed well in the past few yrs for ind. if he can start playing well for his county team then maybe he will get a chance. however i think india how have a very talented line up with dhoni and raina coming through the last year, so its gonna be difficult for sourav i dont have any grudges against him

Well, i don't know about the division in the Indian supporters coz it's not a player which makes the team but the entire team itself. I support India in ever circumstances but it has become so monotonous for them losing again and again and that too badly. I would like Ganguly to be given a chance not coz he might do something spectacular but coz he deserves it, similar to how Sehwag is given the opportunity in spite of his mistakes. And again Indian supporters should support the team and not a player.

You are right. I am agreat fan of Ganguly. Please try to understand, I want India to rule the world but as far as cricket is concerned, politics has dominated patriotism. If performance is the criteria then what the hell Sehwag is doing in the team who has not cracked a century in last 1.5 years. Chapple wants to run the team as per his own terms and Ganguly could have been the main hurdle that is why it led to his exclusion. Who is perfoming today, Dravid, Sehwag, Kaif, Yuvraj???? Ganguly has become a soft target of this dirty politics. believe me, with this attitude, we are not gonna win bloody next world cup for whom this Chapple is supposed to prepare the team. No player is certain of the order he has to play at, that too when World cup is so close. I will pray for an early exclusion of Indian team from World Cup so that Dravid and Chapple have a black spot in their cricketing career.

They are not true supporters of India who only like to criticize players and support them only if Ganguly is in the squad.

YES.
THEY DO.
BUT SOURAV'S FANS WILLING TO INDIA WIN ONLY UNDER GANGULY'S CAPTAINCY.
THATS NOT FAIR.
THIS ATTITUDE MAKES EVEN MORE PEOPLE TO HATE GANGULY.
SOURAV'S SUPPORTERS SHOULD REALIZE THAT AND COME FORWARD TO SUPPORT INDIA UNDER ANY CONDITIONS.
