Although current has both direction and magnitude why is it treated as scalar?Are there any other scalars like this?

Current is a scalar because of its definition. It is defined as the AMOUNT OF CHARGE that passes blah blah blah (through unit area per unit time).

I'm trying to think of an example of other sclalars that might "look" like vectors. Maybe pressure - enough people get confused over it too.

It doesn't really have direction, it is just a quantity (often measured in amps). It can have a negative value, though - so if that's what you mean by "a direction" the answer is that it really doesn't have a "direction". It is completely represented by a single number, so it's a scalar.

afaik, scalar because the flow of current can be referenced as movement of negative electrons along the path or it can be referenced as the movement of the positive electrons too.
