I don't think that has as much effect as the social inequality they still experience. I live in the South and there is still a lot of racism, and it is harder for them to find jobs.

When we all start treating each other as equals and offering each other a hand, maybe the crime rates will drop, but if blacks are a larger percentage of the crime rate, I'd say whites are at equal blame for that because we don't offer them the same chances we have. Sure, you can put laws on the book as far as what rights they are technically supposed to have, but if most white business owners (like in my area) refuse to give them a chance, they are going to be more prone to helplessness and hopelessness, which can also lead to crime.

If blacks were treated equally in this country from very early on, and were allowed the same opportunities as whites, and were allowed to form permenant families instead of having abroad marriages, then the crime rate would most likely be lower.

That being said, any person, no matter their race or origin, is not doomed by the past of their people. They do have to find it within themselves to steer their lives in the direction they want to go though. Few people actually realize this so few rise above what they know.

Your statement is illogical as other nations have a strong black population and have a lower crime rate than we do.While as a minority, it is easy to assign suspicion towards the blacks, given all parameters that fomate crime, it is true that economically disadvantaged people are more likely to commit crimes...so we have bandits like Robin Hood, Jesse James, etc. You have been guilty of watching 'COPS' as the average culprit is stereotyped as a black male...look at the false report given by the mother who drowned her own children and reported that they had been kidnapped by a black man. The media is also responsible for creating this animosity towards blacks by amplifying blacks as criminals and overlooking the ones who strive to do a great job because they are Americans. They are people just like you and trying to do the same thing...have a good life, raise their kids and feel safe and secure. Don't hate simply to hate. Sure, amongst the blacks I know, there are ones that I don't care for...but it is because I think they are not good people, but on the other hand, I have many black friends...and I don't look to see if the black came off after shaking hands with them.

America is a melting pot of many races, As such there is always going to be racism and bigotry to some degree. Which does increase crime. Until we drop the separatist words like "African American, Or (fill in the blank) American" we will never move beyond racism. If you are born and raised here you are an American. Period. If you come here legally and become a citizen then you can be a (Fill in the blank) American.

that is a really hard question if you want to blame all the black people for all the crime then yes . but i don't belive it for a second everone has a choice on how to live there life . some think they are forced to steal but if you ask me i say all you have to do is apply yourself . i have spent more time trying to learn my trade than god knows i look drive down the street on my way to work and see what the people who are hungry doing . hteir is a libary right there drop the drugs and the beer and go into there and read . learn

It's possible that you wouldn't have anything to steal. Considering all the contributions that blacks have made with inventions, scientific breakthroughs, Physical labor, Sports, music, art. Maybe Africa wouldn't be in some much turmoil if some of those finacial benefits from inventions and life changing breakthroughs were harbored there instead of here where they aren't exactly appreciated by racially handicapped persons like yourself.

Yes, crime comes in all colors, not just the blacks. But, the blacks that did eventually immigrate here (as everybody did) would be different than the slaves that were brought here.
