He is 5' 8" and now weighs 122 lbs. Last April or May he began to show signs of weight loss. For the past three months he has been eating two meals a day, rather than one large meal; he smokes and has coffee for his breakfast. Just in the last two weeks his clothes are baggy. He says he doesn't have money to go to the doctor...............What are causes for weight loss; and any suggestions for medical. Thank you.

There could be many different reasons for weight loss, including Hepatitis & Cancer. None of them can be treated at home, so your friend will have to go to a doctor sometime. Check your local social services organizations for free/low cost medical help. Your friend needs to see a doctor a.s.a.p. before it may be too late. Good luck!!

There are so many different things that can be going on, he needs to see a Dr. and have some blood work done. The Dr. would be able to tell ya more from the lab results. If he is losing alot of weight it could be something serious such as cancer.
Good Luck !!!!

Have him see a doctor, get his friends to help with the cost if he can't do it. This weight loss could be caused by many things - all of them potentially serious. Cancer, Depression, and metabolic disorder (including Diabetes) --- and others -- Please see a Doctor SOON.

If he's got a new younger girlfriend, it could be crank. That, or cancer. There's definately something going on in there. At 122, he must look alittle ill.?.
