When I say actual Christians, I mean people that actually follow their religion. Muslims follow their religion. Hindus follow their religion. Sikhs follow their religion. But today so many people that claim to be Christian don’t really follow their religion- they just call themselves Christians because of their heritage. I mean, Paris Hilton says she’s a Christian for godsake! Don’t you think this says something about the religious integrity of this country?

Yes I know none of us are PERFECT, and I wasn't judgeing the actual persons worth. However, I think it's fair to say that too many people these days are taking no efforts or very little effort to follow their religion, as opposed to many other religions like Muslims and Hindus. They're not perfect either, but at least they put a standard effort toward actually FOLLOWING their religion, get what I'm saying?

The problem is too many people that claim to be Christians do not know what it means to be a Chrisitian. Being born of Christian parents does not make you a Chrisitian. Being baptized does not make you a Christian. Attending church every Sunday does not even make you a Christian. Christianity is a way of life and unless you live it you should not be claiming to be a Christian.

Are you sure all Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs follow their religion? I get your drift though. Lots of people go to church, but how many ARE the church? Attend any church for very long and you will know the difference. Most congregations have a core group of believers who are carrying all the water. The Bible tells us not to judge others lest we be judged, but it also tells us that we will know the Christians by their fruits. The Bible also tells us that "many will confess me with their mouth, but know me not." What we seem to accept as a Christian is someone who attends services. What the Bible tells us is that a Christian is someone who has a personal relationship with Jesus. So if you accept that, then a true Christian may not follow any "religion", attend any church, or vote any certain way. That is a little different than the other faiths you mentioned. For them to follow their religions they must practice certain rituals that are very visible on the outside. The way they dress, their prayer schedule and other outward signs of an inner journey. Christianity may not be as easy to spot from the outside. A good Christian may not be the one who is in church every Sunday, then again maybe they are. Therefore the best answer that can be given to your question is "I don't know for others, I only know for myself" How about it how's your journey?

In 2001, 76.7% of the American population claimed to be Christian. However, only 4% of those Christians claimed to believe the accuracy of the Bible. I assume less than that actually follow the Bible.

So, I would say that around 1-2% of the American population are actually born again. So, I think only around 3 million or so are actually born again in the USA.

Someone mentioned Prince. Not many people know that SDAs and JWs both are descended from the same Christian movement called Millerites. The founder was a Baptist minister who began preaching that people should be observing the Sabbath instead of doing Sunday worship.

All it says is something about Paris Hilton. Each person has his own belief, and relationship with or without God. Know man knows this except that man and God himself. You say Muslim follow their religion, well I am not religious, I am a christian. My walk with God is mine. I do not SAY. I am!And me and God will decide the guidelines, not people like you.
People like you need should worry about you.

It's probably good that Christians don't follow their religion the way Muslims claim to.

The Bible and the Quran both tell you to do some horrible things to people. Good thing the Christians don't do what the Bible says to do, and too bad some Muslims choose to do what the Quran says.....

Quran: 002.191 (about non-believers) And kill them wherever you find them.

Frankly I don't like either religion, or any religion for that matter. But the Christians don't want to KILL me... But because I am a non-believer, some (too many) Muslims would want to kill me!

Think for yourselves, people! Don't let some ancient books designed to control the masses dictate how you should live your life, and don't let YOUR books dictate how I should live MY life!

When you say Muslims follow their religion are you talking about Shiites or Sunnis? By actual Christian, do you include Catholics, Mormons, Baptists, whatever cult Mel Gibson's dad belongs to? How many Sikhs, Hindus, & Muslims do you know personally? What about Muslim suicide bombers, and the Muslims who abhor them?

Every religion is made up of smaller groups with varying interpretations, and each group has its members that follow more or less strictly to the prescribed rules.

What makes you think you actually follow your religion. For instance, do you believe that anyone who touches anything you sat on while you're on your period must wash his clothes, bathe with water and remain unclean until evening? (leviticus 15:22) Does your church depict Christ with long hair, though "even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?" (I Corinthians 11:14), and I'm not even going to go into what Deuteronomy 13 tells you to do "If your brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife tries to secretly entice you, telling you to go and worship other gods, gods of people living near you, or far from you, or anywhere on earth."

I think that since Christian belief is that its centered in countries/places (America, UK,etc) where there are lots of ideologies that merge around with the Christian ideology as well due to the 'openness' of the place, it causes people to 'bend' around the belief set and based directly on the bible itself and still call themselves 'Christians'.

E.g - Islam, even the moderate muslims seem to stick to the rules and guidelines really well. They bend it abit to suit their lives but i think in terms of whos bending their beliefs the most, Christians take the cake.
