Of course!
Smart people are obviously going to be more successful than dumb ones, because they can figure things out better.
Physically attractive people have an advantage over ugly people in that others feel more drawn to them at first glance. While looks alone won't take you far in pursuits other than acting or modeling or things like that, they get your foot in the door in a lot of places, and if you're smart, too, you can take it from there.
This is not really a huge revelation, is it? I think everyone knows it.
But success is defined differently by each of us. I'm smart and reasonably attractive, but poor as a church mouse. But I'm successful. I'm happy and have few regrets, and that spells success to me.

You would have to further qualify the question, and establish some benchmarks. For example, a successful person in an Aborigine tribe is wholly different than one in America. To a five year old, even an idiot adult seems 'smart.' Is Steve Buscemi good looking? He is certainly successful. Phyllis Diller? Hawking? Einstein? The real 'rainman' raises numerous interpretive questions. And what is success? How much money you make? How many awards you win? If you win a contest? A fellow, Senator Dirksen, is considered one of the greatest orators of the last century – but he was anything but attractive, and had an almost irritating voice.
I do think you could graph some interesting things, using your statements/questions as a starting point. The [short] shelf life and the changing appearance of Hollywood's leading females would be an excellent place to show your statement has great validity – at least under certain parameters.
Please take all of this with a grain of salt, per se – as I am both ugly and stupid (according to one of my ex-girlfriends), but I am very successful.

I don't think it works that way.
But I do believe that the successful people look smarter and more beautiful to us because of their success.
I have been told that successful people are ones who have failed more often than the rest of us and have learned from those failures and grown because of them instead of letting those hurdles bring them down. I am beginning to believe the people around me who are telling me these words.
I ask you this, was Albert Einstien sexy? How about Henry Ford or Margaret Thatcher or even Queen Elizabeth. But it is how we see them, as being successful, that makes them beautiful.

Look at the people who rule the U.S. They are not only not smart or beautiful, they are stupid and hideous. It just goes to show that anyone can grow up to be dictator of the U.S. (and tomorrow the world!!!!!)

I don't know where you went to school...
Albert Einstein was no looker.
However, it is a fact that taller people are more successful and make more money than short people. Matter of fact, the taller, the more money they make.

I look at Bill Gates and I am totally straight and I know that he is an ugly dude. So I would sat it is up to the individual to fight his way through the day to day.
