When I was about 4 (1969 ) I saw a woman tied and gaged, wearing only her bra and panties, and struggling in the back seat of a moving car. A very vicious looking man was driving with his left hand, while reaching over the back seat with his right hand trying to hit her. Apparently she was able to move too much for the man, and he was trying to hit her to get her to stop moving. My mom and dad were in the front seat of their car passing up this poor woman and her kidnapper on the highway. I remember trying my best to tell my mom and dad what I had just seen, but they were busy in conversation, and therefore ignoring me. The only thing that has comforted me in this experience was that since I saw it, perhaps some adult saw it too, and was able to help ( of course this was before the car phone ). If not that poor woman was likely murdered that day. I still get sad thinking about this experience sometimes.

Yes, I have told my parents about it. Ironically, I didn't tell them until just a few years ago. It was like I had a terrible secret I couldn't tell anyone about.

That's awful that you have to carry that memory with you. Mine is when I was in high school, my mother attempted suicide in our bathroom by slitting her wrists. I knew something bad was up, because I saw blood seeping out from under the door and broke it down. She was still alive, but the entire bathroom was covered in blood. I called an ambulance (this was before 911) and while I was on the phone, she chased me around the kitchen trying to stab me with a pair of scissors. It was horrible and then after they took her away in the ambulance, I had to clean up all the blood.

What a terrible memory. Have you told your mom about? Hopefully it didn't end badly but you were a little kid and you couldn't do anything about it and it's sad you saw it.
