There wasn't too much room to ask my question. Apparently, after racing awhile these NASCAR cars can somehow be adjusted to be tighter or looser. What exactly does that mean? Can a factory car have the same adjustments made and would it help the ride any?

"The car is tight"
A car is tight when the front tires are not gripping the track as well as the back tires, causing the car to want to continue going straight when the driver is turning the steering wheel. A tight car is also said to be "understeering."

If you've ever driven on snow or ice, you can relate. When the front tires do not follow the intended path that is understeer or being tight. When the rear tires slide out from the intended path, that is oversteer, or being loose. You can adjust a normal street car a little bit, but not like a Cup car. Cup cars have so much adjustment built into them nowadays, it's incredible. Most street cars are designed from the factory with understeer designed into the front end suspension.

A tight car sticks to track better, but is slower.
Tight is slow, loose is fast. There are several ways to tighten or loosen a race car up. It can be done with tire pressure, springs, or wedge. As for factory vehicles, you are limited to what adjustments can be made. About the easiest and least expensive would be air pressure adjustment (in your tires.) Good Luck!

a tight car tends to have the front tires slip while making a fast turn. a loose car tends to have the back tires slip going around turns. typically a slightly loose car is what is prefered for racing. if i remember correctly i think it's like a 10% or 11% skid from the back end is what is considered to be the most efficient for high speed cornering.
unfortunatly, most street cars are way tight making high speed turns difficult, and they don't have the convenient adjusters that the race cars do, so it's not so simple to make them looser.

Tight is also know as "understeer". But is means when a car is said to be tight if the front wheels lose traction before the rear wheels do. A tight race car doesn't seem able to steer sharply enought through the turns. Instead, the front end continues toward the wall.

Tight means you hit the wall with the front of your car. Loose means you hit the wall with the back of your car.

race cars have adjustable suspensions, that can be "loosened" or "tightened" according to handling needs. tightening means stiffer, more responsive handling
