How dare he come to our soil, criticize our government and our President. You don't have to be a supporter of Bush, or the war, but dont respect the fact that a political leader comes over to our soil and disrespects our leader. He shows no respect for our country.

I don't think he likes us very much, and he does not show very much cooth as well! I personally think Chavez is just a show-boater who has jumped on the "Hate America" band wagon. What really pissed me off was the church in Harlem or New York; where ever it was and Danny Glover embracing Chavez and allowing him to call our president the Devil. Now the church is not the United Nations, so this was not a speech to the UN, and It was definatly done on US soil. As far as I'm concerned, those indiviuals who allowed him to speak that way are turn-coates and traitors!
In America we have the right to free speech, and that includes not liking an elected official and being able to voice our views in public, but when a friend of our enemies and a total disrespectfull jerk comes here and is embraced to speak crap, out side of the UN meeting, that is Un-American as it can get!
We all don't have to like our president or our policies and what-not, but as Americans we should show a little patriotism and loyalty to our president when he is publicly insulted on our soil, after all, he does represent our country and our flag. Like him or not! If we don't do this, then how do we expect the rest of the world to respect us?
Lets all try to be good Americans again like our parents or grand-parents were. Lets show some back bone and take back our respect and dignity we once had with the rest of the world. And for Gods sake, lets all vote and get a differant president! Thank you.

He was a member of the UN (United Nations.) and like or not he was responding as he saw fit. When Bush makes his pronouncements of Evil, and Evil doers and Evil Diders all the time, then he gets up there and speaks of what a great culture Iran is, and acts the exact opposite of the way he is, and blah, blah , blah while they are here, it was all most refreshing to have someone speak out and say, devil, or whatever.

It's public knowledge that that Pat Robertson, Bush supporter, Christian Coalition for Bush , publicly advocated assassination of Chavez, by no less than our CIA. and Chavez is supposed to come over here and kiss butt? When the whole world knows how corruption and greed is is the trademark of Bush and the conglomerations that pull his strings.
Chavez isn't alone and, when the whole world gets fed up enough at Bush , they will speak up, too.

First, the UN meeting is on US soil (for the guy on the 1st comment). Second, before that dumass should tell bush how bad he is, he should look at his own country. If someone called Chavez a devil in Venezuela they would be shot on the spot, and the GDP of the country is about $35,000 lower than US (everyone's poor)

Funny i'm australian, and Bush has said silly things, but the majority of us "whites" in Australia support him, myself included. We're smart enough to support a person who has made the occasional mistake, but overwhelmingly done the right thing by us, then a person who sits back and let the world wallow in its own crap. So you got my support, and i agree with the philosophey that when you go to a country you obey their rules or get the hell out <- you won't believe how much crap we Australians are now getting from minority groups who think they can do what the hell they like, and if you do anything to curb their behaviour (like tell lebanese that residential area's are for residences only, not for commercial enterprises like a trucking/demolition business), we are considered racist and ostricised from our society. We are waiting for Bush to say enough is enough, that the ROW can get Fcked and that if they want to come here they follow our rules, or physically have them removed, so we (Australia) can follow suit.

Look at it this way, he actually got some of the leading democrats to come out and defend our President. The guy is a scumbag....he will end up being a lackey for Iran and Cuba. He is a nobody and he knows it, he was only trying to make it to the front page of the American News. His face makes me want to puke!

nojoo-----He did speak at a church in Harlem and insulted the president. In fact, he blamed New York city police and the CIA for a power problem while he was giving his speech. Maybe you should do some reading on Yahoo news.

You gotta love the USA. You can have your viewpoints, and speak freely, no matter how rude you are or how much of a fool you may be.

I agree.

Chavez is a blowhard who likes to here himself speak. He deserves scorn and certainly not any respect. He is despicable, as are any mindless sheep who are foolish and uninformed enough to agree with him. Chavez will eventually get what he deserves.

He can thank his lucky stars for the price of oil these past few months. Maybe he should spend as much time fighting the extreme poverty in his country instead of shoveling shite to mostly useless U.N. bureaucrats.

Sorry, dude, even congress talks Sh1t about Bush. That someone can do that goes to show its a free country, and hey, give him enough rope to hang himself, its was in poor taste and the guy has the credibility of PETA.
He knows the difference between a government and its citizens, thank goodness. I can hope Bush's other enemies do as well.

I think he's just desperate for attention and loves the spotlight. The worst thing an American can do in response is to buy into his antics.
