I tried peas a month ago and she spit up green stuff all over me! I figured it was due to gas because she let out a big burp afterwards. So today we tried again and she made grossed out faces for the first tastes, then when she got a spoonful she gagged and threw up a little?! Could she just really not like peas or could she be allergic? I know that might be a stupid question but her doctor never specified how to tell if a baby is allergic when starting solids? Should I just cut these out of her diet and try again after another month or so? What other green veggie baby foods can I let her try?

.-. It sounds like she just doesn't like peas at all.
If she is developing a rash or having fever, or gets violently ill from eating the smallest bit of peas, then she's probably allergic.

okay! She may not like the taste of the peas. If she was allergic you would notice some sort of rash. and possibly a fever ect. Most doctors say to start babies on vegetables b/c they are not are sweet as apples, bananas, pears ect. Try to give smaller bites of the peas. As far as 2nd foods go.....I was feeding those to my kids by 5 months and stage 3 by 9 months and they were pretty much eating most tables foods by 1 year old. I introuced meats at 6 months old, but only by using my own blender and pureeing what i cooked first. It has more flavor that way and the kids enjoyed it more then the bland in teh jar.
I basically used the jars for when i was on the go, for convience. Hope this helps you some. Just go with your motherly instinct.....it is hardly ever wrong

As a Daycare Provider, here is a trick for you that works on us all time. Try mixing in the peas with other baby food such as "sweetpotatos", "applesauce" , and better yet "bananas". Mixing the peas in with the foods that she likes helps the peas to be not as thick and it also help it to taste better. You can also try other green veggies such as spinich, and green beans.
Signs of her allegies are pretty obvious. She might become blochie, she might have hives, and she might not even be able to breath. It all depends on how serious it is.
You can start with a little solid if you want to. Let her have a little taste of it and see if she likes it.
Happy Mixing!

About the peas. She probably just doesn't like it. An allergy would involve a rash, difficulty breathing, swollen lips...it's very very uncommon to have an allergy to veggies. Allergies are usually to proteins, meat, milk, soy, nuts, shellfish, wheat...I really don't think gagging and throwing up indicate an allergy.
Just like you said don't give it to her for a few days then try to mix a teaspoon of peas with another veggie she has already tried and liked ex. carrots, sweet potato...no other green veggies really taste good to them.

It may take up to ten tries before your baby will start to like a certain food. As far as throwing up goes, I'd ask her doctor again. I don't believe throwing up is a sign of allergies. It might be that she just really doesn't like them. I started giving my son stage 2 foods around 9 months. He really hated the meats, so I just waited on them until he was in stage 3, when they are in tiny pieces rather than mush.

LOL...sounds like she doesn't care for peas mommy...lol She tried to tell you when she made that little grossed out face and you didn't believe her so you just had to put them in her mouth. The only other way to tell you mom was to blow peas...LOL...I'm not laugh'in at you...yes I am but it's with love and good meanings! Different babies like different taste just like you and me. And as for what foods to intro to her...try everything at least once and we both know that "she" will surely let you know...lol Learn to trust that little "grossed out" face she makes or you'll be wearing another of her "un-favorites" The ones that you know are good for her...just try again in a few monthes and she'll let you know. She's coming into her own now and she'll soon be mak'in more and more of her own decisions like it or not so get used to it mommy...lol Most of all...enjoy that sweet baby girl because babies grow up way to fast. It happened to me...my baby is 20 now and about to be mov'in out so I'm wish'in she was still my "little" baby girl again. She always will be in my heart! May God bless you sweetheart. Enjoy every minute of everyday and trust me...dishes and laundry will be there when baby isn't so spend all the time you can with her! @-}-}-------

She sounds the right age to be eating solids, so digestion isn't the problem. She probably just doesn't like them at all.
Allergies to vegetables are rare. Instead doctors will warn you about the potential allergies to milk and nuts. But peas? I think she just hates them.

Instead of feeding her them on a spoon, if she is into finger foods, let her feed them to herself.
I used to give them to my son frozen, they were great for teething.
I almost never used baby foods, I gave my son what we ate, either mashed or threw it in the food processor.
