The answer is yes, u can have friends of the opposite sex if it's just strictly platonic. There's a big difference between a platonic friend and an intimate one and people are confusing the two. But, one must not spend so much time with the platonic friend to the point that their spouse feels neglected and that's when trouble in the marriage can start, especially if the spouse doesn't know of this friend.

In my marriage, my husband and I both have platonic friends of the opposite sex and we all know each other so there's no problem for us.

I think you could have friends of the opposite sex if they are not "one on one" type of meetings and are with other people including your spouse. Otherwise you are asking and rightfully so for a "set up" that may seem innocent but could maybe not be soooo innocent, especially since you like that person enough to be "friends." I think you should include their spouse or your spouse so it stays on the up and up. Or are you talking a single opposite sex friend? Keep your spouse included at all costs or you are messing with fire. And why can't you be "friends" with your spouse? How would you take it if your spouse decides to have a male friend and meets all the time etc. without including you, wouldn't you get a little suspicious too? I know I would be concerned about it and wondering what they have that is sooo much greater than what I have to offer, that you have to seek an opposite sex friend and exclude the spouse or don't enough tell them. It just doesn't fly in my book unless you include your spouse on your "outings, etc" Good luck! Hope this isn't an indication you are fooling around on the misses!

Married people can have a friend of the opposite sex without there being any attraction or anything like that. It is the secrets and lies that cause problems. Most of us are of a jealous nature whether we want to be or not, but if we can trust our spouse to tell us the truth then we can relax a little, or at least we should.

It is ok for married people to have friends of the opposite sex. The key is to include, or offer to include, the spouse in all social interactions with these friends.

The problem happens when married people have friends of the opposite sex that they want to socialize with away from their spouse. This causes justifiable insecurity and should be avoided.

for my section i do not decide on the idea. My husband and that i both have pals of the different sex and considering we've been married and previous we've had little to no situation with that. To be basic i have had more advantageous issues out of my same sex pals than my guy pals. My husband has met all my guy pals and at the same time as in a position he will carry out with them after I do or maybe seperately. all of it boils all the way down to what you perfer and what the relationship can handel. If both of you're uncomfortable with having pals of the different sex then do not do it (altho i imagine later down the line it is going to come again up in a adverse way). Or if both of you think the different sufficient and sense like it ought to reason no damage then have all the pals you decide on no count number the sex. that's a count number of opinion and considered both interior the relationship. if you're satisfied with the alternative both of you made then be achieved with it. If no longer you should opt to carry it up now before any resentment builds up for him "no longer allowing" you to have the pals you so decide on.

I don't see why there should be a problem with it,as long as you stay faithful to your wife.you can be friends with someone of the opposite sex and not have sex,you might think about it,even want to ,but as long as you keep it to yourself and not act upon those thoughts or feelings there isn't anything wrong with it

I do beleive that you can have frineds of the opposit sex. My other half does not beleive this to be true because he thinks I am cheating on him with my friend who is married.. It causes alot of problems but it is not my fault that my b/f is insecure. My friend and I have been friends for a long time and I will not give up my friend because my b/f is insecure.

Yes I have that problem i get along best with guys always have most of my friends are guys and my husband gets a little upset but he trusts me its not like I'm going out with them or anything we just workout together so i guess it all depends on what your doing with the opposite sex and of course trusting them.

I have plenty of friends from the opposite sex and it doesn't matter much to my wife, because she knows all of them and they are her friends too.
What will arouse suspicion is if she finds out that you have a realy intimate friend that she do not know of..
And that, if she finds out,,, all hell could break loose.
Of course, you would not be hiding anything anyway unless of course, you have some sinister plans in the future.. (lol)
