Why do drive thru ATM machines have braille on them?

Actually, why would any ATM have braille since all prompts come from a video screen that must be SEEN to operate!!!!!!

If you were blind and you knew the ATM sequence, maybe from getting a person to go through it with you, you would be able to withdraw money no problem.

First, it is probably a law that the ATMs must have braille due to the Americans with Disabilities law. Second, blind folks can likely make the machine speak to them instead of reading the screen. I've seen non-driveup ATMs with places to plug in earphones. Lastly, folks sometimes walk up to "drive-thru" ATMs.

Lol, dude I always wonder the same exact thing, and to this day, I've never seen a blind person use an ATM. I think they go to the tellers to get cash and stuff. But then again, how do they know that they're really getting 100's ? Money doesn't have braille on it.... :D

Because ATM machine companies use the same mold for making walk-up ATMs as they do drive thru ATMs.
