None, a diagonal creates a triangle. A pentagon has 2, a quadrilateral has 1.

The number of diagonals any convex polygon with n sides has is n-3. So, since a triangle has 3 sides; 3-3=0.

Where is the E coming from? Assuming you want the diagonal of the rectangle (either AC or BD), you use Pythagorians theorem with a right triangle. x^2 = 12^2 + 16^2 x^2 = 144 + 256 x^2 = 400 x = 20.

A diagonal is from any one corner to another. In a triangle if you try this, you end up tracing one side of the triangle, so you don't have any - even in a right angled triangle!!

Sorry, Wied is not correct. A triangle indeed does not have any diagonals, but any n-sided convex shape has n-2 diagonals. A quadrilateral has 2 diagonals, a pentagon has 3.

0 diagonals goes from one point to the other and traverses through the inside of the area bounded by the lines that connects the points in a given way.

for in stance if you have a starshape and connects two neighbouring points of the star the will not be diagonals since they are outside the area ...

None, there are no diagonals in a triangle.

None because all vertices are adjecent to each other. We require at least a 4 sided figure for a diagonal.
