Don't be ignorant. Not all poor people claim they "deserve" a temporary handout. In fact, many poor people have too much pride and won't take any charity and they suffer because of it. I personally think there's nothing wrong with a person taking charity when they need it, as long as they don't remain dependent on it and don't use it for a free ride. I'm more than happy to give to someone who needs a helping hand until they can make a better life for themself and their family. The world would be a better place if more people were willing to do that.

Corporate welfare in America is triple that to people in need, so those asking for handouts are folks like GM, Ford, United Airlines, Art Modell for the Baltimore Ravens, and Phil Knight of Nike. Those guys get handouts from the government like Paris Hilton gives out sex.

Hardly, many poor people would rather work if they could afford medical care and such.
Most handouts in America go to the oil companies, factory farms and the auto companies
