but nevertheless recommended me for a good job and I was hired.
I do not feel that taking her out to eat will be a good idea because we do not really know each other and do not have things in common.
I have sent her thank you cards and left a voice mail
but do you think a gift card to her fav. restaurant will be appropriate?

I work with one of her best friends and I'm sure her friends have been giving her positive feedback about my job well done

leave it where it is, maybe on your anniversarry you would send her another card but i wouldnt do anything else, she may need a similar favor one day so let what happens happen - if your ever out and you see something small maybe then but id still leantwoards the wait -

Gift cards or flowers are always nice. I think the fact you sent a thank card is more than what a lot would have done.

Give an assurance to her saying that you will take efforts to justify her recommendation, by living / working upto the expected levels. And if it happens, and the hirer gives her a feed back of "thanks",
then, this would be the best gesture, though a bit difficult.

I think you've done enough. A gift card is a nice gesture but it could be a bit much. You've both done your good deeds, just be available if she ever needs your help =)

I think that is an excellent idea. It is a very appropriate way to thank her.

Congratulations on your creative thinking. No wonder she recommended you for a good job.

I think you have done enough. Anything more might be construed the wrong way. The fact that you got the job should give her satisfaction enough. Do your job well will give her further satisfaction.

You're describing a professional relationship. The thank you cards (more than one?) and the voicemail should suffice. I would not take it any further.

Kudos to you for having professional manners. ;)

"thank you cards" indicate more than one, so that should have sufficed. if you want to thank her again, wait until christmas season and get her a gift card to her favorite coffee hut... don't know which is her favorite? one close to home or office.

Honestly guy,

You should probablly do nothing more... I am sure she understands you are appreciative... If you do more she might think your weird or clingy or something.
Do your own thing, be yourself.... Just don't seem desperate.
