If a fetus is just a clump of cells then whets the big deal, right?

Personally I despise abortion. But I don’t understand why if someone kills a pregnant lady that he/she can be charged with murder of the fetus. Double standards?

Also I really don't care what women do with their bodies. They will have to answer for it themselves according to their conscience.

Why are you offended? It is because you dont have a leg to stand on in answering the question.

Then you act like I shouldnt be asking such questions because the mother might get her feeling hurt. Come on ow thats just a weak excuse.hmmmm must be a liberal .

Yes I definitely think the guy got what he deserved. Would be nice if they executed him sooner than spending thousands keeping him alive in prison for the next 7-10 years.

Because many states recognize that if a pregnancy is viable (the child can live if born) then you are actually taking life. If you kill an 8 month old pregnancy, that child could have lived. I am so glad that these laws exist. It pisses off the abortion whackos. It makes good logical sense.

Very good point! Scott should not have been charged with killing if only a fetus. No more than countless doctors. People like you should be congratulated for making others think....

I am a little naive and was not aware of the charges of S Peterson....I thought all the media was just because he was a good looking guy and his wife was pregnant...and didn't follow the case...I guess he was condemned more than a woman who does the same thing because he was a man. You are right about double standards. I wonder the outcome of the murder case had his wife lived but her fetus died? Would it still be a murder charge?

Many states have laws that recognize an unborn fetus as a person for criminal charges, i.e. homocide. The United States Supreme Court has ruled in Roe v. Wade that abortion is a privacy issue. Don't ask me.
So far, no state attorney general has had the backbone to take the issue to federal court, that I know of. Or to just refuse to accept the Supreme Court decision. No way do you want to see how a late term abortion is performed.
There are a lot of diverse opinions about abortion - who is right is a more difficult question.

A fetus is not a clump of cells. An embryo is a clump of cells. A fetus is a baby over three months gestation. Most states require that an abortion has to be conducted before the second trimester.

I don't know though. A late term abortion should be considered murder. People have plenty of fricken time to make up their minds. Most people that are knocked up don't have the right to an abortion anyway, it's not a method of birth control. Don't get me wrong, I believe there are certain circumstances that abortion seems fit for, but I absolutley DESPISE the idea of a late term abortion.

Simple, abortion is only legal when the mother of the child gives permission for the pregnancy to be terminated. Scott Peterson did this against her will and killed her too. That's murder.

Abortion is the legal right if someone chooses. Murder is not . And remember, the baby was about to be born when they were murdered. He got what he deserved.

The man has NO rights to get the woman to have an abortion or require her to have the kid. He is required to help financially support the kid if the woman chooses to keep it. N.O.W. succeeded in having it both ways.

Laci was 8 months pregnant when she was killed; that is well past the point of fetal viability (i.e., the baby would probably live if she gave birth at that point).

True. He should have been charged with practicing medicine without a license.
