Hi,
The CW is a joint venture of CBS Corp ( owners of Paramount, or UPN) and Warner Bros. (owners of The WB). CW stands for CBS Corp/Warner Bros. Yeah, not the best idea, but Leslie Moonves (president of CBS Corp) stands by it, so there it is.
