is it worth really to pass a subject without getting indepth knowledge of it?

Usually students think of passing the examinations just by writing something in the answer paper in engineeering levels. I suppose that the more they read and understand, the better their knowledge will become

I am not sure about engineering but they say they you can bullshit your way to the top (say in politics) but when you get to the top, you are gonna have to learn quickly or get found out!
