Sounds like a subjective question rooted in poor self esteem. Most people do care what other people think. Civilization is based on it. It's called communication. Nearly everything that impacts our lives is based on what other people think: books, politics, religion, philosophy, science, and on and on. In all honesty, can you deny it?

No, not really but my kids show me they do.
I have a care what others think, but also know how to turn a blind eye to what others think of me if need be :)

Only when they really listen ... and only when you listen to them, and see another mind out there*, then you'll be heard.
Then they will care... you just care about what you think, and take care that your own thinking is correct in your life..
