On Remote Desktop Connection before you click connect, click first the OPTIONS and on Local Resources Tab, checkmark the Disk Drives (it's uncheck by default).

Once you connected to the remote, double click My Computer of remote computer, there it lists all available drives, remote and local then you can make transfer files and you don't have to map anything!!!!
