I was pretty sure this movie would be good, because I like Steve Carrel, but I had no idea how much I would like it. It was funny, no, hysterical at times, without getting silly (well, maybe a little). I loved watching his buddies come up with idea after idea to "help" him be cured of his virginity. I like that he tries to stay true to who he is rather than changing to suit everyone else. I also liked the way the characters are so individual and real in their own ways. Not a single one of them were boring either. I was also very impressed by the main character's collection of action figures. I just loved the whole movie and I always suggest it to all my friends when they ask what's a good DVD to watch.

it was an excellent movie. I agree with the critics when they say The 40 Year Old Virgin is this generation's Animal House

It was funny because every guy can relate to some scene in the movie -- obviously it is over exaggerated, but it captures nicely the angst that guys go through to find the right girl and ask her out.
I loved the fact that his friends kept giving him really STUPID dating advice, and that he kept taking it even after it was clear their advice was obviously messing him up and making things worse! That was sooo true!!!!

Yeah, I thought the whole movie was hilarious.
I liked the part right after they had played cards and he was on his way home. He was saying to himself he could do better than that and stuff....I thought that part was just so cute and funny.

My favourite parts are in the adidtional features when the guys are playing video games and talking about what qualifies as "being celibate" hilarious - and "You know how I know you're gay?' segment as well - too funny!

I liked it too. I like Anchorman more, though. But, to each their own.
I liked the "I hope you have a big trunk... because I'm putting my bike in it" line.
The whole movie makes people feel a lot better about themselves. Everybody can relate to Andy.

the scene where the guy is getting waxed and starts to curse out whatever, and at the end of the scene, his waxed hairs make a happy face.

Yeah- my favorite part was his boss at the electronics store..the one that wanted to get with him. She's not really ugly, but there is something so nasty about her....funny!
