I believe General Robert E. Lee was the most influential figure in the war ,on the side of the south , I believe he was a proud man who refused presidents Lincolns offer to be top General of the union army ,as his love for the South was patritic. He died broke, sick and hardly known ,but if you dig into history books ,for the truth ,he emerges as the most magnificent man in either North or South of the conflict.I think is time he is remembered with a stamp, or coin ,or some landmark, .

All generals in the war were righteous and spiritual men and had the utmost respect for the opposition (most of them had been classmates at West Point). My favorite is William T Sherman. The war so affected him that he had to retire from the war to recover from melancholy (depression) in either 1863 or 64. He prosecuted the war with determination. He believed in total war without retreat.
His most famous quote was, when told that Gen Johnston was attacking in the north of Georgia, "If he attacks in the north, I will give him horses and provisions. My business is in the south."

And whose God is it you prefer to stick to? The Mormon God? The Catholic God? There are considerable adjustments, lots of which i'm specific you will unlike. factor is faith and politics could desire to in no way be mixed, era. I even have in no way as quickly as, nor will I ever, vote for any candidate in keeping with their religious or non-religious perspectives. i'm no longer electing a spiritual consultant or pope like parent. And opposite to what think of, morals are the agreed upon norms of society, they do no longer, nor have they ever, come from faith.
