Admitting failure. Admitting that you both tried and it didn't work; admitting and realizing that you want more out of life and your relationships; admitting that we are only here once on this earth and to spend it with people who are not 'helping' us is not what we were meant to do during our brief stay. Telling the children - if you have them - was indeed one of the most difficult things -but on the positive side, reassuring them that they would have a secure future without seeing any fighting and hearing any bad words was rewarding enough. I'm on the other side and I wouldn't go back for anything...still upset that my family can't be 'together' but happy that my kids will know that I had a really tough decision to make and I made the right one for THEM.

If you have kids...they do. I divorced when my kids were very young and I believed I was doing the right thing as I didn't want them to be exposed to the anger and hatred that could have developed. I was also very young and didn't have anyone to talk to for guidance.
If you do not have kids then its the emotional turmoil you will go through. Should I, shouldn't I? The perpetual roller coaster ride. It's a tough one no matter what happens with a divorce. Think about counseling first not matter who has to swallow their pride...try it! Good luck and God bless!

Splitting everything; the house, the money and more importantly, the kids and, to a lesser extent, the friends.
