You will have to pay tolls if you take Highway 40 through Oklahoma.. Depending on a car, car with trailer or truck somewhere between 20-100 bucks I'd say.

If you travel the back roads it wont cost anything in tolls, it will be more scenic and you will eat better foods find cheaper hotels and go through some swell towns vaya con Dios

If you can book a little in advance a ticket a plane ticket that would probably be the cheapest. The fees vary one-way or roundtrip though.

Sounds like a very long trip..with gas prices..I would just take a plane!!!
