I love that we have in america a lil opportunity for social mobility. I love that we can say just about anything we want and we won't be killed for it. In my mind america is a country that holds onto old fashioned values, while embracing new idea's. in a way we are very hypocritical. There are a lot of things that americans except in private that they wont in public and vice versa. we also have become a lil too pushy about forcing our values and lifestyle onto other countries. Economically other countries are developing rapidly and the U.S. is moving further away from producing goods, and more into consuming goods, and offering services. this is great in some aspects ,but i worry that we will lose power and have less to offer other countries in terms of trade. So i am overall happy with america but am worried about the direction we are headed economically, politcally and socially. These are tender times, where every move will effect the future, i only hope we make the right decisions.

Too expensive to live in. I plan to retire to the Philippines someday as the cost of living is much lower there. I had to borrow money to pay taxes last year and I'm a homeowner (I thought there were supposed to be tax advantages to owning your own home, but I haven't seen it yet).
