Do guys really wear jock straps other than for sport support? Do they wear them to work?

It depends on what style jock you are wearing and how comfortable it feels on you. Basically, the traditional jock, (a pouch and 2 butt-cheek straps) tends to chafe deep in the groin after about 3 or 4 hours but only because of the stiffness of the elastic pouch material. When you wash it, overdose it with fabric softener every time and it eventually becomes slick as silk to wear.

if you are wearing the speedo style, they are more comfortable because they are like underwear. But they offer a different problem, usually they cramp your package into a tight little bundle, keyword "little", and you sweat, which leads to a new problem, crotch odor.

If you must wear a jock for your lifestyle, consider buying 2 or 3 spares and change 1 or 2 times during your day so you are basically wearing a fresh one at least every 4 hours.

The next consideration is "how old are you?" If you are a new teenager, 12-14 (the age group of boys most likely to over-wear a jock because it feels sexy), you may experience several spontanious erections while sitting in class or at the dinner table with your mom and dad. Consider wearing a floppy t-shirt outside your jeans to help hide the results.

if you are older, you probably have out-grown that risky sensation seeking part of your life but if you are still wearing your jock a lot, for other than normal sports-protection wear, your experience may include the spontanious erections and the sweating and odors that go with sweaty balls, but you may develop waistband rash. It's not really a rash, but rather the red mark that the waistband would leave on your skin after wearing a jock for several hours. The red mark is not harmful to your body but it may be embarrassing when you get undressed in front of your friends or when you are trying to be romantic with your partner. They may not understand that the red rash they are looking at as they go down on your pike is nothing to worry about. It is always easy to explain to your buddy as he contemplates continuing on you that its all just a mark from your jock. But if you are trying to get your girlfriends lips locked on your pouch pike, she may not believe your story. After all girls do not wear jocks. However if you relate your jock strap markings to a girls bra strap markings, then they will understand. Sort of. You would hope.

Anyway you look at it, a jock is definately a conversation starter, and it is easy to show it in mixed company because your pouch pike won't flop out to scare little babies and make dogs bark. And of course, there will always be one girl who will insist on touching it - your jock, not your pike - that comes later, hopefully.

So, to answer your question, yes guys do wear them for more than just sports and work.

Now, wasn't that fun?

Of course it s okay. If it feels good, if you like the support, if the extra bit of exposure is pleasurable to you -- why not?!!
I have decided that I like a thong style jock more than the standard 2 butt straps. I had quite a bit of dance training in my youth, and became accustomed to wearing a thong style supporter (dance belt) under tights and leotard.
Now I just get out my handy needle and thread, cut off those butt straps, and tailor a single-right-up-the-butt-crack strap. I find the support superior and more specific.
Just now, I used both pieces of elastic, attached them to the inside of the support pouch in two different places, tacked them together about three inches below the waist band, and then attached them as a y-back thong style to the waist band on either side of the word "BIKE" -- the brand of jock I am wearing. And I am wearing it right now, and I gotta tell you, the support and the comfort is excellent!!
I m mostly commando, except when I go to the gym, but this fit and comfort could change that preference!!

I suppose it depends on what one is doing (physical labor) and how much support one needs (very dangling genitals), but my guess is that regular use of jock straps is unusual. Many underwear varieties offer features that would be as good as those of jock straps but are a lot more comfortable. If you want to wear a jock all the time, I suggest you do some serious underwear shopping. Start by searching online, and you will be able to find good alternatives.

Jockstraps For Everyday Wear

nothing wrong with it. Its just girls and jock straps. Your sister probably finds it gross that she touched it or something. I would be the same. Don't mind her and if it really bugs you then just go up and say it to her. Ask her why she is acting like that and could she stop because shes making you feel weird! Hope it helps :)

Yes, it's o.k.! Not only is it o.k. but it's IMPORTANT to avoid injury. BUT, your sister shouldn't get embarrassed. It's just "underwear". Do you get embarrassed when you do the laundry and have to touch her panties or bra? Or better yet, will you go to the store without being totally weirded out and buy her a box of tampons or a bag of pads? Same difference, really. Just who's more "grown up" really.
