I'm going to be fair! The myth of the Good Woman.... what characteristics does she have and where do you find her?
Also, do they really exist?

I figured I asked about the myth of the Nice Guy, I'd ask about the myth of the good woman.

This is a poem I found that sums it up:
A good woman is proud of herself. She respects herself and others. She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, or does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs.
A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated. If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.
A good woman has a dash of inspiration, a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them.
A good woman knows her past, understands her present and moves toward the future.
A good woman knows God. She knows that with God the world is herplayground, but without God she will just be played. A good woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead, she understands that her life experiences are merely lessons, meant to bring her closer to self knowledge and unconditional self love.
However, a good man is hard to find.

Hmm, well a good woman is one that you can have a fight with and still love her. She's smart, funny, pretty, and loves to take care of her family. A good woman is one that knows everything bad about you and still loves the way you look in the morning.
They do exist. They are actually quite easy to find once you stop looking for the perfect woman. You can never find the perfect mate, and even if you did you wouldn't be able to be truly in love with her.. No, only with a good woman can you be perfectly in love because with her everything is balanced. There is just enough bad there to keep things interesting. =)
One last thing, a good woman will inspire her man to do things he wouldn't do on his own. She'll raise him up on a pedestal to help him reach his full potential as he does for her. And she loves kids, because children are what makes a woman whole.

The Good woman spins and darns and works after dark and seeks income property for her household. She watches and instructs the children so they'll grow up wise. She doesn't show off, flirt, start problems or fan rumors.
There's a very clear description of this in the last two chapters of the Book of Proverbs in the Old Testament.
You can also find her described as Balkis, the Queen of Sheba, in Kipling's "The Butterfly that Stamped" in his book, "Just So Stories."
I've never found her and have been looking my entire adult life.

A Good Woman is never lost,nor is she hard to find.When you get in trouble,she comes and finds you!
She is always there when you need her,anytime of night or day.Always standing by her man!
Of course she exists.As long as there are Bad Women,so there will be Good Women.
I have seen her!She is here in this house right now and definitely does exist!

A good woman is fair, honest, loyal, brave in adversity, loving and kind. From most of the other answers to this question,she in also married. That lets me out I suppose.

most good women are now extinct.... they been extinct for so long that I barely remember what they were like...well, for starters my grandma was a good woman(may her soul rest in peace) my dad says that she was faithful and unlike many of today's women was not a whore. She was good to her husband and she was hard-working and kind, not superficial did not flirt with other men, loyal to the end, did not complain about the burdens of being a mother and was dignified and strong

A good woman anticipated his needs and fills them before being asked (clean socks, cold beer, good joke, ect.)
A good woman encourages male bonding time, and enjoys hearing about it when they get back.
A good woman would never cheat on her man.
A good woman knows when to hold her tongue, and when to give his "fish tales" the extra credibility he needs in the presense of others.
A good woman knows when to be kind to the checkbook.
We exist in the "prude" section of the local hangout. We are the shy girls. But we do exist.

Once again, they are not a myth - they are not rare. Most women are good women, most men are good men. Give people a chance and you will see - they are not rare or mythology - they are as real as you and me.

Just the opposite of a good man. you have learn how to interpret what a mans saying into something you can understand without taking offense if it doesn't sound like what you meant.
Yes . but it takes practice on each others parts to learn this type of communication skill.

A FAIR woman is a person willing to accept as many shortcomings in her partner as she is willing to admit about herself. A GOOD woman doesn't bother keeping score.
