Despite the popular opinion in this Answer forum, so-called IQ tests are not entirely meaningless (I will not engage that discussion here), and it IS possible to improve thinking skills and capacity.
Various mental exercises have been demonstrated to improve memory, reasoning skills, and other mental abilities. In addition, recent research has shown that physical exercise can benefit the brain.
Speaking of brain benefits, omega-3 fish oil has numerous profound benefits. It only takes about 3 fatty fish meals per week to get the maximum benefit. If you don't like seafood, omega-3 fish oil is available as a supplement. The recommended dose is 3000 mg per day. This has the added benefit of vastly improving the health of the heart and arteries. The latest studies on omega-3 fish oil and the brain can be found at PubMed, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, at http://www.pubmed.com/
(just type "brain fish oil" in the search box, but without quotes)
Crossword puzzles, logic problems, brain teasers, and reading have all been proven to increase brain power. Almost anything that requires you to think has the capacity to help. Other things that can help include regular adequate sleep, a balanced healthy diet, stress reduction, and positive family-social relationships.

Intelligence test are semi pointless. I mean, I honestly don't believe in them.. Think about this argument.
What is an iq test?
A test to define intelligence.
What is intelligence?
What you score on an iq test.
It's circular, thus pointless. Besides, culture, gender differences, virtually anything can offset an iq test. Tests of this nature need to be accurate not just for the age range being tested, but also the culture etc. Don't trust them in short.

An IQ test never really shows how smart or intellect a person is. I wouldn't dwell to much with that. Its what takes place in real life situations, you can tell if you are an intelligent person or not, I hope. :) Don't waste your time doing that, concentrate on living your live wisely, not by a silly test.

There are several good books that have good information for improving your score; I have one called the Einstein Factor. Also, keep doing the type of problems that you are trying to improve.

I don't think you can improve your IQ. It's not like a knowledge test.

you really can't raise your iq, it is a capacity for intelligence, so it is possible to raise it to maxium capicity but you can't raise your overall score.
