a boy named Kaitlyn? Are you going to call him Katey too?

You have to petition your state's trial court for the county where you live. It costs money to file the petition. You go to the county clerk and ask them how to file the petition--they may have form you can use or you may have to write your own, but they may help you do that or you may need a lawyer. Once the petition is prepared and filed, the court usually places a notice that tells the world you are changing the name. After a prescribed waiting period, the court will hold a hearing, to make sure the name change is what you really want, that its not to defraud creditors or in the case of the child to prevent another parent or other relatives access and so forth. After the hearing the court will issue an order to the place where the child's birth certificate is filed to change the name on the record and they will then issue you a new birth certificate bearing the new name....
So the process takes some money, some time, but its done in your state trial court. But Kaitlyn for a boy? Think hard.

Um Kaitlyn is a cool name if he were a female.. How old is your child?? Dont you think it would be a bit confusing for him if you were 2 start calling him by another name (if you haven't already) and not to mention embarrassing!! Theres abs. no point in going thru the headache of changing his name when he gets old enough he'll prob. get sick of the name calling and give him self his own name!! So I think Kaitlyn really isn't such a good idea!

Depending on how old he is..
Retract your Balls, take back the semen, un>>> the mother and produce the stuff necessary to have a girl to name Kaitlyn.
If you try to change his name, he will ,literally, kill you in a few years.
Remember, or look up, "The Boy Named Sue"!
