This equation is false, if x is 4 and y is 2.

2(4) + 3(2) = 14
But
8(4) + 7(2) = 46

So you have 14 = 46, which is false.

Whatever the value of x or y this is not a valid equation the only thing you can say is:
2x + 3y <> 8x + 7y

Were <> means "not equal to".

However, you could argue that f you substitute 0 for both x and y it works but that would be wrong as algebrically it can not work.
The only way an equation like this would work is if one of them (x or y had a negative value.

Let us say that the equation is correct and the values of x and y need to be determined.

So let me rewrite the equation a bit:

8x + 7y = 2x + 3y + 0
Subtracting 2x from both sides of the equation we get:
6x + 7y = 3y + 0
Subtracting 3y from both sides of the equation we get:
6x + 4y = 0
dividing both sides by 4 we get:
(3/2)x +y = 0

or y = -(3/2)x

We still have only one equation and two variables so one can not get to one value for x and one value for y. You can say that whatever the value you set for y, you will get a value for x.

So if we say y = 1 then x = -3/2
If we say y = 2 then x = -3
and so on. Note that x and y can have +ve and -ve decimal values to so the number of solutions is infinite.

IF X = 4 :
_______
2x + 3y = 8x + 7y
2(4) + 3y = 8(4) + 7y
8 + 3y = 32 + 7y
8 - 32 = -3y + 7y
- 24 = 4y
- 24/4 = y
{ - 6 = y }

IF Y = 2 :
________
2x + 3y = 8x + 7y
2x + 3(2) = 8x + 7(2)
2x + 6 = 8x + 14
-14 + 6 = 8x + -2x
- 8 = 6x
- 8/6 = x
{ - 4/3 = x }

6. you be attentive to that the slope of issues is m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1), the area the y2 is the y-coordinate of the 2d pair of coordinates, the x2 being the x-coordinate of the 2d pair, and so on. m=(-7-5)/(-2-3) m=(-12)/(-5) m=-12/-5, or 12/5. 7. Slope intercept type is y=mx+b. The coefficient of y could be one and b is a relentless (isn't a variable). So, to place this in slope-intercept type you may desire to divide by using means of three (the coefficient of y). 2x+5=3y 3y=2x+5 y=2/3x + 5/3 8. The x intercept is on the same time as y=0 and the y intercept is on the same time as x=0. replace 0 for y or x to locate the respective intercepts. y=3x+4 x intercept y intercept 0=3x+4 y=3(0)+4 3x=-4 y=4 x= -4/3 x intercept: (-4/3, 0) y-intercept (0,4). 9. The quadrants bypass counter-clockwise commencing up from the main significant surprising ideal. So, (-4,5) is located in quadrant II. The x-value is shrink than one, moving the ingredient to the left, and the y-value is useful, so because it is up from the x-axis. 10. The coefficient of any variable that doesn't seem to have a variable is one. The slope-intercept type is y=mx+b, the area m is the slope. presented that x has 'no coefficient', the slope is one.

2(4) + 3(2) = 8(4) + 7(2)
8 + 6 = 32 + 14
14 = 46

Does this seem to work to you? There is something wrong with your question. I have never known a time when 14 was the same as 46, sorry.

2(4) + 3(2) = 8(4) + 7(2)

8+6 = 32+14

14 < 46 = Answer

There is the answer. By the way, there's no problem with the way you stated it.. it's just not an equation.. it's an inequality.

Just substitute the numbers:
2(4) + 3(2) = 8(4) + 7(2)
8 + 6 = 32 + 14

Since the two sides are not equal, there must be something wrong with the way you stated the problem.

It doesn't have one and it's **not** an equation since the left and right hand sides aren't equal. Maybe they want something like
2x + 3y =/= 8x + 7y
