I have kids and my first one was born at an inopportune time. The thought of an abortion never crossed my mind. My only thought was man I got to get another job. Please help me understand why someone would think abortion is a good idea. I look into my children's faces and I can't imagine life without them, I definitely could not imagine them flushed down some toilet or tossed like trash into an incinerator. Help me think like you.

My children, my choice. Let me make this perfectly clear. My girl did not have a choice. If she was to go behind my back and do it that is one thing, but let me assure you, no woman I am with will ever abort any child of mine. The same immense love I feel for my children I can hate just as passionately my enemies.

I cannot make you think like me...You live in a world where anyone that has sex is responsible and family is the most important value...where men truly love, care, and respect their wives and are strong enough to deal with any crisis that comes up.
Some people don't live in that world, they live in a world where men hate and abuse women and their children...where unspeakable acts happen between fathers and daughters, where abuse is rampant, a place where drugs and alcohol are the only things that can dull the pain of living. It is a place where cruelty, hunger and despair is all there is...
You see the world as a beautiful place for you and yours.......... You had hope.

People that make choices make them based on their experiences in life. If unwed, pregnant mothers are so scared about their future, and they don't know where the father of the baby is or they know the baby will be born addicted to cocaine and have AIDS because they do and they don't know where the money will come from decide to end their pregnancies, that is their choice, and if they can't end their pregnancies and end up killing the baby after it is born or abuse it so it will become drug addicted and hopeless or they become criminals and kill your children what are you going to do? You are going to be outraged and demand the DEATH penalty for that child...Okay so he deserved to live then, but until he becomes a problem for you YOU LOVE HIS LIFE AS A FETUS BUT AFTER HE IS BORN YOU HAVE NOTHING BUT CONTEMPT FOR HIM.
I always hear about those who can't bear the thought of losing their children want to push their decision on everyone that disagrees with them...If you told me that you have 5 kids, all of whom were brain damaged or had other disabilities and were addicted to crystal meth and you don't regret your decision to have them, AND you were prepared to ADOPT 5 MORE WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS, I wouldn't argue with you at all...

While I am strongly opposed to using abortion as a form of birth control, there are situations that warrant it. If your 11 year old daughter was raped by an uncle, would you make her have the baby? What a great, constant reminder of what happened. If your wife was told she was pregnant but would die if she had the baby would you still try to make her have it? Abortion is a moral issue, and you can't put a law on morality. There is NO way to just pick and choose the people who should be allowed to have an abortion. People lie. Doctors lie. There is no reasonable way to control who can and can't get them. Abortion is NOT a black and white issue, and I'm sorry, I know you love your kids, but I don't believe that anyone, man or woman, should be allowed to make a law regarding abortion that has never been in the position of having a dangerous/unwanted pregnancy.

Here are the reasons I hear (and I agree with none of)
1. It is a woman's body. This is a feminist issue. They believe that women are dominant and can do what they want.
2. The child will be a bother. My response is do not have sex if you are not willing to have a child. Cannot cheat nature.
3. Women should have a choice. I agree, if they choose to keep their legs closed, then there is no problem.
The hardcore abortion people do not want people to be judged. They feel it is wrong to look down on someone because they are irresponsible. These people are not rational.
There are a lot of people also who do not respect life. They have sex and think that they can just get rid of the problem. I have found that people who are sex maniacs have other issues. They are impulsive. The same issues show up in people who over eat, over spend, etc.

Abortion is horrible, when will people realize that very few dispute it.
The problem is that in a capitalist society, money is far more important than children. In a religous society, reputation is more important than values if you want respect.
It does come down to greed in some form. But think of it this way, if you merely outlaw the action will the cause stop? NO. If you stop legal abortions, people will have illegal abortions. If you then stop illegal abortions, people will do the even more dangerous thing of causing miscarriages.
If you want abortion to go away, you can't just change laws, that is how you ignore the problem. Instead you must change society. Greed in all of its forms must go. I don't see it happening.
Unfortunately until then, like war, abortion is the safest and most humane of options avaliable to address the problem.

If my daughter were to become pregnant by you, then I would advise abortion. Some humans are control freaks and I would not like my daughter's child to carry that gene. Control freaks believe that it is their right to direct the lives of others. They do not believe in choice or differing opinion.They believe that eveything they do is right, that all their children are perfect, and that the beilefs of others have no merit.
Hitler was a control freak, just as you are a control freak. I would not like to see more people like you born. When you look into the face of your children you see something that you think you can control. When they get older you will learn that they have a mind of their own. They may or may not follow in your footsteps. As a control freak you may wish then that they had been flushed.

I don't understand it either so mabe I should not be answering your question .
The whole thing revolves around the concpt of life though. When and how. The idea that a woman can choose what to do with her own body is fine with me but abortion os where the woman decides what to do with someone else's body namely the babies .
Long long ago a girlfriend became pregnant and had an abortion I broke up with her as a result -
My question is Is it the fault of the Dr's who acted as paid mercenaries performing murder for hire ?
The girl who did this didn't really give me an answer as to why or how she felt she had the right but it would appear she made up her mind as soon as she heard she was pregnant

Nobody really likes abortion. It exists because people are irresponsible. People will say I am wrong, but honestly, who wants to be a child that is not wanted? I have been there. I would never want someone else to go though that. Abortion is sort of like a “mercy killing”.

Someone else answered that she didn't have time to try to open up closed minds, and pro life people shouldn't try to force their views on others. Pro abortion people constantly try to shove their misguided views on others. It seems to me the very same people who preach tolerance and acceptance can't handle it when others disagree. I don't try to change others views but if someone asks my opinion I'm going to give it. I don't care whether "I don't have time" girl likes it or not. By the way, sorry I can't explain abortion to you....I don't understand the murder of the unborn either.

There are lots of very good reasons and I'm sure more than a few really lousy ones. The choice, though, is not yours to make. Your body, your decision and it is you that lives with the consequences, good or bad. Let's leave it at that, shall we?

Because you are a caring person and put others feelings before your own..you will not be able to understand abortion. These women need to continue with their life...parties, school, boyfriends, dances, concerts...they can't be tied down to a baby...the time is just not right for them. ...but you have something they don't. The love of your children.
