My husband gives everything he has to his daughters and I. He needs a new pair of glasses very bad but each time I bring the subject up he tells me they are fine and changes the subject. I have to sneak behind his back and buy things for him. If he needs a new pair of shoes I have to do it because he would rather walk around in his holely shoes and buy things for the girls or me. I know men like this are few and far inbetween and I feel blessed for a man who provides for his family so well, putting our needs ahead of his own. Are there any other women who have men like this, what is a good way to trick him into going to the eyemasters to get him his glasses? What are some good tricks to get him to the store?

Wow, you've got a keeper girl!!! A man that puts other's interests above his own.. OMG! Tell him you have a surprise for him and blindfold him. Take him to a store for the glasses and by the time the blindfold comes off, he's already in the store!

You know, it's really quite common. My dad was that way, and so is my husband. For many years, didn't even notice. Then, one day he got sick (not anything serious) and I realized he hadn't seen the doctor in like 5 years.
I've started buying him things whenever I see something I think he might need (jeans, socks, etc.) because I know he wouldn't buy them for himself. It makes him happy and it makes me very happy.

Bless his heart for being so good to you and his girls. Have you tried buying him clothes etc for gifts?

Put his on the ground and step on them. Break them. That way he has no choice but to go.

My husband is like this as well. He gives and gives almost all of the time. I agree with you that they are rare and should be appreciated. He treats me like a princess.

Maybe you could give him a gift certificate.

Good luck!
