I know it's a dance, but I've only hear its name, never seen it danced. I've also read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxixe_%28dance%29 and http://dance.stanford.edu/syllabi/maxixe.htm It says that somehow maxixe is a relative to both tango and samba. I'm familiar with both Tango and Samba (as well as with many other ballroom and latin dances). Now I'm very curoius what the maxixe music would be like, and what the dancing would look like. Does anyone know?

Yes, it is a Brazilian Tango with a little bit of two step. It's music is Brazilian as well said on the dance Standford site. It is pretty strict and there is not a lot of bounce to it. Arms and legs are straight most of the time. Cool stuff, interesting to learn.
