My friend has ADHD and she's been taking medication for 4 years. Everyday at school at lunch, she'll either get an ice cream, carrots, or a smoothie. I asked her if she was hungry and she said "no, not at all" at shes starting to scare me. shes SOOO skinny. TOO skinny. so one day i rode the bus home with her after school. after school, i always tend to have a snack. so i had some easymac at her house. she had NOTHING. and for dinner she has plain noodles. im so worried for her. she also shakes and stuff. what should i tell her? she is also vegetarian.

**PLEASE NO RUDE COMMENTS

**PLEASE NO ONE SAY "GOSH ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" becasue I would be asking if i didnt care.

Well, have you tried telling her that you are concerned? Maybe she recently changed the dose or type of medication she is on and it is making her sick or not hungry. I would start by talking to her and expressing your concerns in a caring way.

If she continues to not eat and lose weight and you fear that it is a health threat then I would say you need to talk to her parents, your parents, someone else who can get her the help she needs.

My husband has ADHD and he took medication all through his school years. He stopped taking the meds and has worked very hard to keep his disability under control so he won't have to take them. He has told me that the meds made him feel sick, spacy and so disconnected that he couldn't concentrate on anything.

Just be her friend. She might get mad if you tell someone, but as her friend you can't worry about it if she is harming herself and needs help. Good luck!

im sorry for your friend, but you are right b/c this is a serious issue that needs to be responded to. ask her if she is concerned with herself, if she isnt then she really needs to be because no one can help her unless she really wants to be helped
Im not sure how the adhd has an effect on the eating habits unless i was actually able observe her activities or if she was to actually, in the process of eating, forget what she was doing and just leave her plate or food.
As far as eating disorders go there are a few different ways to go about it. You are a great person for being so concern for your friend's well being. One thing that a person with a eating disorder could do, though it may be a little out of line but it has been proven to work for several different diseases, the use of weed or marijuana has been known to significantly increase the appetite or the actual desire to consume food,

you said it all in the last sentence. She's a vegetarian.
those people are freaks. It's one thing to restrict the amount of meat you eat, but the body is supposed to get SOME meat.

It really is NOT your business. But if you feel compelled to intrude on her dietary choices, offer to help research why she is trembling. Suggest vitamins and other supplements.

Also, since you seem concerned for her health, maybe she has an eating disorder. Trying to maintain that Paris Hilton look ain't easy. Two vodkas and an In and Out burger once a week is all she's allowed.

Alot of times the medicine the dr.'s give ADHD patients cause those patients to have a total loss of appetite. If you are really concerned and have a relationship with her parents, I would express your concern with them. If this doesn't help maybe you could talk to your school counselor or nurse about the situation.

It sounds like she might be anorexic. Of course I am not a doctor but I think she should see one. Please talk to her about your concerns. Tell you are worried about her and see what she says. I would also talk to your mom and tell her. She can help you talk with your friend or maybe help talk to your friends mom. If you don't feel comfortable talking to your mom speak to a teacher, clergy or anyone close to you or her to find out the next step of helping her. She doesn't sound like she is getting any protein in her diet and very little calories. It can be very harmful to her health. She needs help and she is lucky that she has you to lean on.

If your friend has ADHD, she may be on some medication that is effecting her appetite. The medicine that many kids take actually contains an appetite suppressant, and this in turn can effect her lack of appetite.

talk to someone at the school asked them what to find out abut ADHD and if they can tell you what to look for what the sign of seeing of ADHD... so if you do find that your friend have ADHD pls., have the Teacher or an adult to tell them pls., do not make it too drama about this but need you to see what I see if you agree with me and if they ask you question tell them the truth what you said about after school and she never eat at home...

There another plm., if tell she will not want to be yoru friend and everyone will knows about this plm.. make sure the teachers and adult know that this is between her and her family and teacher nothing to do with me... Pls., it about trust and better keep in school and parents need to know.

I am worry about my friend and I could be wrong about ADHA and I need you to see it for yourself and see what you see and watch her eating and keep an eye on her.

So yeah If my daughther like that I would notice of my daughter being eating like that. So, She 3 now and If she doing like that I would do something and if her friend told me I would thanks that person because person being a true friend and care about that person.

You being a true friend and you notice and make sure they see before they make final to report this to her family.

Don't ever give up on her and be on her side... you are a great friend and soon or later she will know who her true friend looking after her.. smile. and who cares what other said about you and your friend. just look for someone like me helping you out smile.

I wonder if her medication makes her lose her appetite. That could be the case. You're a good friend to care about her so much. Good luck.

If she's taking Aderall for her ADHD, that's probably the culprit. Rich, lazy people take Aderall to lose weight because it completely takes away your appetite. She may want to change her medication.
