actually, I don't think prostitution is legal in Las Vegas. I was under the impression that it was only legal in Reno and the county Reno is in. Therefore, the Mormon Church is not investing in prostitution. As for neo con politics, the Mormon church is very conservative. Gee, an Episcopal Church is getting reamed by the IRS for speaking out against the war, but all these conservative churches just go on with their endorsement of the conservative politicians. Go figure.

founded by the mafia...rofl...what a bunch of idiots. Yes, it was founded by mormons, everyone in Nevada and Utah knows that. "Starting in 1895, the water was used for irrigating crops and orchards by the Mormons and later ranchers. After the city of Las Vegas was founded in 1905, the spring water was diverted into the town's water system and the creek largely dried up." It is called sin city because of the vices however, but you know that too, darlin'.

Who told you this?? I'm from salt lake city. Not mormon. But this is not true!! They may invest in certain businesses that aren't pertaining to religion, but usually for a good cause. But that's my 2 cents being raised in SLC. I'm actually a block away from the Conference Center. Weird

As far as the comments down below. Mormon belief is about life and the chosen path to death/ or life after.

Mormons have to choose to have sex only to procreate. Not for pleasure. So basically no condoms because this is interfering with Gods way's.

So usually if a Mormon man has 3 kids, he's only had sex 3 times. Now how crappy would that be. Id rather go to hell;)

Not sure where you are getting your info...I'm guessing not from an actual LDS source.

We have a temple in Vegas because although it is referred to as "sin city" there are still faithful members there and the Lord would not have had us build a temple there if He didn't want one there...

As far as the whole "sex is only to have kids", then I am failing miserably. I have been married for 6 years, have had sex MANY times and have no children. Sex was a gift given to us from the Lord for two purposes: to procreate (obviously) and to express love between husband and wife. Once you are married, the church does not enter the bedroom, you are married, you can do whatever you want as long as you are both comfortable with it and it just involves the two of you.

Get your facts straight, this is how false rumors/accusations are spread...

This is the most uninformed question & group I have read on Q&A since I joined. What complete lies.
The Mormon Church does have 30 billion dollars in assets.
It owes airlines, railroads, beef & citrus farms, Beneficial Life Insurance, radio chains, & tons of real estate.
It has never been accused of any illegal or shady, It paid taxes for decades before the IRS required churches to pay taxes.
When the Catholic Church fought in court to not pay taxes although it owns several times what the Mormon church owns,
the Mormon church would not join lawsuit.
Mormons tend to be Republican because we are family oriented, we believe the family as it existed for thousands of yrs & life is sacred. The Democratic party has become too far left - catering to special interest groups including yesterday a dictator critizing our country & president.

For the record, Mormons have sex as often as they want since we have more children my guess is more than others.
My clothes are not like all other Mormons - Ann Taylor, Gap,
Old Navy, Saks - is not what all my friends wear. Some do & some don't.
Try to ask someone who has not left the church for what it is like, do you ask an ex- Democrat or an ex-Catholic what Democrats & Catholics believe.
People become bitter when they leave any organization.

Shame on you for judging who is Christian & who isn't. I believe
in Jesus Christ & I believe only He will judge who is Christian & who is not I have lots of Baptistm Methodist & Catholic friends that know I am Christian.
uninformed people.

The Mormon church moved out west when they were persacuted at this country's birth. They just so happened to land up in Utah and some of Nevada.

atlthough I don't know what you are refering to.. I can surmise maybe if the girls get pregenant people will stop having sex with them.

If they do abort the baby they will go to hell.

seems reasonable.. but I honestly have no idea where you surmised the mormon church supports las vegas prostetution or how the neocons fit into the deal

That's silly to think that they have stock in prostitution ... however, all you have to do is research their investments to find that they have large investments in tobacco fields and like-industries. I've always thought that was a bit hypocritical.

When politics change, they get divine epiphanies that instruct them to be more PC ... its evident in their history.

Additional: It is correct that a majority of LDS are Republicans ... the General Authority could tell them to jump off a cliff and they would. So they vote accordingly.
In addition, the divorce-rate, suicide-rate and prescription drug abuse for depression in Utah is EXTREMELY HIGH. Utah County is the most prescribed county in the country.
