There is no "god". If there was a "god" there would not be so much volince. I believe in scince and the chaos theory. Scince has proven alot more the bible. Chaos has been proven alot more the anything religion has.

It's uncertain whether this mystical "god" exists or not. But most people believe because of (a) fear or (b) because they lack the strength and understanding that chaos and randomness are what rule the universe. Harsh but true.

I believe there is a God. If you read the bible your comments on violence in the world will be answered. It is all biblical. If the bible is not true and God doesn't exist than why are all the prohecies in the bible being fullfilled? You have free will to believe what you want to, but always remember that is what God gave you, free will. I am sure that all the people who ask these stupid questions will finally be answered when the rapture happens, by then the desicion to change your mind will be to late!!!
God bless!!!!

I would first like to point out the fact that you have no knowledge as to whether or not any kind of higher deity exists.

People believe in a god for the same reason that people believe in the Big Bang Theory, or Evolution. It's a way for them to answer the questions like: Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going?

I'd also like to point out that you're being very rude to anyone who believes that any kind of god exists in the way you are asking your question. It sounds almost as if you are treating those people like they are lower or dumber than you, when they clearly are not. The only difference is that they have a different way of answering those questions up there than you do.

All in all, the reason people believe in a god is because they need to be able to answer these questions for themselves. Humans are inquisitive in nature and when a question that is difficult to answer like "Why are we here?" poses a diffficulty, humans will create their own answer that gives them peace of mind. Whether they choose to answer the questions with a belief in a creator, or with a belief rooted in scientific conjecture is up to them. To each his own.

Till next time,
Raven

I don't think there's anyone here on this world who can prove that God exists or doesn't exists. I don't know much about His existence but I'd like to believe that there is someone out there who cares.

if you think about the chance of our existance is slim if not impossible, we could be the only living things in the universe, so for something so hard to happen we have to believe there is some force controlling all of this thats why people believe in god

I, myself, am agnostic. Which means I do believe in higher powers but just not surrounding on one idea. But to answer your question, I am assuming you are refering to christianity. To me, religion is a way for people to blame their problems on something that is not visible so they can rest easily at night. I am not against any religion because I do believe in freedom of human beings, but that is the only explanation I have thought of for years.

People believe in what brings them comfort, solace and a reason for living. Some one told me, "You just have to have faith," when I questioned God's existence. I understood that answer . . . it meant if the shoe fits your need, wear it. Until you actually see him (it or her), God only exists in your mind, and only if you wish it.

My answer... the Bible says so. That is enough for me. By the way, who do you think created you and everything around you? People can not make something out of complete nothingness, only God can.

The same reason people don't believe in a God who clearly DOES exist.

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?
