Sears parts sells a kit for this purpose,or go to a tropical fish store they sell plastic scratch remover for plastic . Pep Boys Auto sells M`Guires plastic polish . any of these products should help.

If it's a rear projection t.v. on some models it is possible to remove the screen and turn it around backwards.... both sides are grooved....
This may not completely fix the picture but on applicable models it can help quite a bit.
