Years ago, when I worked as a customer service rep, a customer called in - and when I pulled up the account, her last name was S h i t - but pronounced with a long i. She was a very serious-sounding woman. I mean, with a last name like that, she had probably taken alot of abuse over the years. Even through the phone, it was like she was thinking, "...go ahead - I dare you to laugh." She was so rude, laughing at her last name was the last thing I wanted to do. What a horrible last name.

A local family name is

Beanblossom.

The janitor in our high school was named

Butts.

Sadly, her parents actually named her Rosie. This is true and she laughed when she talked about it. She was great.

Then there is the inventor of the indoor toilet --

Thomas Crapper (and you wondered where it got that name)

I realize the cross-cultural issues, but as a kid I always smiled to hear the newscaster speak of Dung Xiao Ping. I don't know if I was more of a Beavis or a Butthead.

Dumas.

I have fun with that one.

I once knew a guy whose name was "Phuc The Ling". True story. His parents divorced right before he was born and he was supposed to have his father's last name. That was his mother's revenge.
