What year did the Cadi make a pick up along the lines of the Chevy El Camino & the Ford Ranchro? They only made them one or two years and they had to be paid for before they would put them on the assembly line. What was that year?

The oldest one I have seen was a 55 model but they may have been made before that. The newest one I have seen was in the late 80's. And have seen several years in between that.
To my knowledge Cadillac Motor Division did not make these themselves , but rather farmed out this work to seperate companies such as coachbuilders. You could compare this to ambulances and hearses and such.
There have been those that have disagreed with me on this but they neverproduce any evidence that this is a factory made item.

You are referring to flower cars made by the hearse manufacturers and were used to carry bouquets to the funeral. They followed the hearse to the grave site. The funeral homes would sell them along with their hearses when they bought a new fleet. The coachbuilder would buy a specific unfinished chassis from Cadillac and finish building it up.
