O.K. but you still have to take out the trash.

I would reply... I have a son? Really, I don't think I would really have a problem with having a gay child. Homosexuality now is like being African American in the early 1900's, but eventually, people who are homophobic will be looked down on and considered bigots just as racists are now. People really did used to think that slavery was justified because the bible condoned it.

I would probably try to find out why my son felt that way. I would then let him know that I love him regardless of his sexual preference. I would also try to find a support group for both of us so I'd know how to handle this revelation. And finally, I'd spend many hours with my priest since I would need spiritual counseling.
I would try to refrain from reciting Bible verses condemning homosexuality because that would make my son feel more awkward like he couldn't come to me with things like this. Bu it'd be hard. And I'd need as much of God's strength as I could get.

I'd say- "First of all, I am your mother, Your father is down at the gay bars again cruising for cowboys"
Then I would say
I want you to know my son, that I will always love you no matter what, but if you stretch out my little black dress I will kick your swishy little behind. And get your own damned makeup.

Since he burst in, I'd check on what definition of queer he's using. Whatever way it goes, accept what he says and don't hassle him about his decisions.

i would ask him if he knows that queer means and if he did and still said he was then i would simply hug his neck and tell him we love him no matter what his life choices are.
then as soon as he walked out the door i would burst into tears.

Remain calm. Breath easy. Listen carefully, before commenting. Accept and give support to your son.

I would say, "Son, I love you, but I'm your mother, not your father. Oh, and don't say 'queer', say 'gay' or 'homosexual'...It sounds nicer."

You're dad's not here. I can't believe you were going to tell him before me. I wanted to be the first to tell you that we've known since you were little and were just waiting for you to come around. Wanna go shopping?

I'd want to disown him. I sit him down and read him scripture of how it says that Homosexuals don't dwell in Heaven. That scare the queer right out of him.
