i have 2 oscars and one of them is taking rocks in their mouth and spitting them elsewhere, making a hole in the gravel
anybody know what it may be doing?
not sure of the sex of either one

Oscars vary a lot in personality, if there war some lip locking prior to this behavior, they may be breeding, but it is entirely possible that they are simply rooting through the gravel because they can.

They just like to rearrange things. They'll move plants every where mine puts them in clusters then lays them all flat them moves them again. He also digs. I'm always rearranging to drive him crazy. The only problem I have is all my oscars break those glass water heaters I've been through eight. One fish broke three so watch that when they get big you'll have to remove the shards. Have fun with your oscars.

They can get really bored and play with stuff in their tank. Try throwing in some things for them to play with. A ball or some kind of other object.

I hope you have 125 gallon for the two of those to be enjoying together.

The one moving the rocks is most probably female and shes building a nest.
