I went barefoot for years and now find it hard to walk barefooted. My feet now are really sore.

Start off buy buying something called Mr Pumice (i think) at Sally's Beauty Supply. It is a good scrubber. You will also need one of those callus shavers and a thick foot lotion. They have some at Wal-Mart by Dr Schoals I think.

Anyway, soak your feet for ten minutes and then using the scrubber with some thick hair conditioner on it scrub away at your calluses. Dont do it too much this first time. Then get out dry your feet and you should see the calluses seem white (as that is dead skin and from soaking, etc.) use your shaver (be careful with this) and lightly shave even layers off of the callus. Dont go too far this time. Stop and then put a thick layer of cream on your feet and then put on socks. Leave on over night or put your shoes on and go about your day. Do this routine (maybe not the shaving part so often) about every other day until you get your feet nice and soft and then daily right before you get out of the shower scrub your problem areas real quick with the Pumice and that will keep it from building up again.

In addition to getting regular pedicures.....after each bath, keep a pumice stone and really work on the bottom of your feet for several minutes. For a while, take vaseline and cover your feet, particularly heavy on the bottom of the heels at night. Then take the scissors and just nip the toe part out of a pair of tennis socks (so your toes can move) and sleep in these socks all night!!!! If you continue to sleep in socks for a couple of times a week, your callouses will become a thing of the past.....hope this helps.

Soak feet in warm soapy water.

Rub a pumice stone on them, they also have exfoliating cream that actually slouffs of the dead skin. Dr. Scholls sells it and there is a product called happy feet that has a peppermint cream that takes off all the dead skin

after you soak your feet and remove the dead skin, put lotion or a nice layer of vaseline on your feet and put thick socks on and keep them on all night, when you wake up the next moring your feet will be so soft.

I suggest treating yourself to some regular pedicures. Ask around and you probably find a good strip mall type place and get a pedi for $20. I find those places are actually better than a lot of fancy spa places (although you don't get a private room, but who cares?)

Moisturize twice a day. Get good quality lotion. Think about getting a pumice stone yourself if you want.

Yes, get a professional pedicure. Keep it up though, they do come back. I have been a hairdresser for years and I am flat footed and mine will never be completely gone.

I use to roller skate ALOT years ago and i still have them. Get a
"file" for them from wal-mart. It will scrape them off and then on the other side it will "buff" them to be smooth. Lotions never helped either.. As far as i know they NEVER go away.
