well...everything is relative in Einstein's perception so...5+5 can be even 100 or why not -50?

Well, if you're rounding up to the nearest number and a half with your two commodities of 5, then they're going to be 5.5 which when added together equals 11. Maybe that wouldn't be called 'rounding' though. But you get the notion.
Or maybe the answer had to be rounded to the nearest prime number.
Or maybe you're understand of the symbols '5' and '11' translate to what everyone else understands as '1' and '2'
Or maybe you live in a Bizarro dimension. Say hello to Bizarro Superman for me!

5 + 5 is 11 if the term 11 is defined as what we now call 10, i mean what really is the 'term' 10 and the 'term' 11?
5+5 is 11 if we begin at 1 instead of 0, why is 0 always the beginning, must we always begin from nothing?

I always go by the fact that I have 11 fingers. On my right hand I count from my pinky finger one, two, three, four, five. On my left I count from my pinky finger ten, nine, eight, seven, six, which astounds most children when I tell them that 5 plus 6 equals 11, and they understand that the 5 finders on each of my hands together equals 11, so therefore, 5 plus 5 equals 11!

Saul Kripke (prominent logician) touches on a similar problem in his work concerning Wittgenstein. He proposes something along the lines that + could actually be quus rather than plus. Then the sum of the math problem would undergo a drastic alteration. Check out Kripke's works at your nearest online book outlet.

well first it's not true, but if you insist, all theories conform to 1, so I'd say 5+5=1.
Truth is one without a second.
