"Hajimemashite, watashi no namae wa Thomas Hawk Devries desu. Anata no namae wa? "
In Japanese, Konichiwa is usually only used when it's a simple 1 word greeting. Hajimemashite means "It's nice to meet you." but also means "Hello" in an introduction.
Hope that helps!

Good luck

Normal Japanese...
kon-nichiwa, watashino(=my) namae (=name) wa(=is) Thomas Hawk desu(polite).
anatano(=your) namae(=name) wa(=is) nan(=what) desuka(polite question)?
Formal Japanse...
kon-nichiwa. Thomas Hawk Devries to-moushimasu(is,polite).
anatano o(polite)namae wa nande-suka?
Casual Japanese...
Konnichiwa, bokuno(=my) namae wa Thomas Hawk Devries. kimino(your) namae wa nani(=what)?
Kansaiben(most famous dialect)
Domo~waino namae wa Thomas Hawk Devries yanen(or 'den-nen').
Ansanno namae wa nan-dekka?
old Japanese in Edo piriod by samurai
Ohatsuni-omenikakaru. (=nice to meet you)
sessha (I), Thomas Hawk Devries to-mousu (=which named) mono(a man)-degozaru(polite).
Sokomotono(=your) namae-wa nande(=what)-gozaruka(polite question).
If you want to be VERY funny, you can choose kansaiben or old Japanese.
However I recommend normal or formal Japansese besically.

こんにちは、わたしのなまえはトマスハックデブリズです。
あなたのなまえはなんですか。
(konnichiha, watashi no namae wa tomasu hakku deburizu desu. anata no namae wa nan desu ka.)
I'm not perfect, but you can e-mail me at: bluesylvia@hotmail.com
And, yes, in order to see the Japanese characters you need to install the language pack. To do so, just follow these steps:
* Go to Control Panel
* Select Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options
* Add Other Languages
* Select Install Files for East Asian languages
* You may need to reboot after selecting Okay.
For some good Japanese-learning and practice sites, I reccommend:
http://wwitv.com/ (you can watch real Japanese television/music and get a feel of the pronounciations)
http://www.thejapanesepage.com/ (has awesome lessons on grammar, vocabulary, culture, etcetera and the people in the forums are usually very helpful so long as you search before asking a question)
http://www.iijisho.com/
http://www.yesjapan.com/
http://www.japanesepod101.com/page/22/ Easy to follow, step-by-step instructions to help with speaking Japanese
http://sharedtalk.com/
If you already know how to read and write Japanese, I can also send you an invite for the "Japanese version of MySpace" but you need to have some fluency in order for that to work.
