If they're just transvestites, then they're gay men. I would guess that they self-identify as drag queens (as a hobby, a profession, or a lifestyle; there's a lot of different ways to go about it). I think the best way to categorize them would be to ask how they identify; unless it's none of your business, in which case you have your answer right there.

you wouldn't. Labeling other people creates invisable minorities with unequal access to resources and protection. If you must label, then two humans in a relationship. Wait for them to identify themselves to you with a label(s) or as preferring not to have one.

Labeling another person, or not allowing them to identify themself (identifying them yourself without their permission) can be very socially harmful.

How many people are mislabeled into one category or another and essentially made invisable and even invalidated as an individual? Labeling other people happens very often, and can create invisable minorities which limit people's access to resources and protection.

Here is an example of how labeling other people can create a social minority with limited access to resources and protection:
How many sexes are there?

Over 30, actually. How many are recognized by mainstream society in the US? 2. Where are the rest of them? All around you. But they are invisable because people label them males and females and then label their genders and their sexualities... their identities.

How many sexual orientations are there?

More than 40.

What information are you using to label a person? How much do you actually know about your fellow human beings?

Please don't label another person before they identify themselves to you, you could be harming someone...even your friend.

Why do you need to? Can't you just simply treat them like human beings?
