5m-2(1m-5)=17

5m-2m+10=17

3m+10=17

3m=17-10

m= 7/3

m= 2.3333333....

This is because -2*-5 as the minuses are infront so they become the equation so the negatives turn to a positive than you just do the same thing you do to the other side

First you need to expand the left side. Next, isolate m.

5m -2m + 10 = 17

NOTE: it is +10, not -10, since (-2)(-5) = (+10)

3m = 7
m = 7/3

5m - 2 (1m-5) = 17
5m - 2m - 10 = 17
3m = 27
m = 9

remove the plus verify in the front of the seven and then remove the parentheses. in case you subtract 7 from 3 you get a adverse 4. Then upload 4 to both aspect and upload 7m to both aspect. Your m's will be on one aspect and your usual volume will be on the different. Then divide by making use of the quantity in the front of the m.

2*1m=2m
2*5=10

the equation is then 5m-2m-10=17
then 3m-10=17
then 3m=27
then m=9
